Goyder River rainbowfish (Melanotaenia trifasciata) (PAIR)

The Goyder River rainbowfish (Melanotaenia trifasciata) is a lively, schooling fish native to Australia, growing up to 13 cm (5 inches) but commonly reaching 8 cm. It features a distinct mid-lateral blue-black stripe in males, with body and fins displaying vibrant colors like yellow, orange, and red that intensify with age and in the presence of females. These peaceful community fish are well-suited for beginners, thriving in planted tanks with groups of at least five, clear, oxygenated water, and can be kept with other peaceful community fish.
