Temperature

6478°F

pH Range

6.57.5

Min Tank Size

10 gallons

Breeding

Very easy. Egg scatterers. Will spawn readily in groups. Provide marbles or mesh at the bottom to protect eggs from being eaten.

Diet & Feeding

Omnivore — flakes, micro pellets, frozen foods, live foods. Not picky eaters. Feed 1-2 times daily.

Natural Habitat

Native to South and Southeast Asia. Found in a variety of habitats from fast-flowing streams to rice paddies.

Care Tips

Extremely hardy — can tolerate a wider temperature range than most tropicals

Very active swimmers — need a longer tank with open swimming space

Excellent cycling fish for new tanks (though fish-in cycling is debated)

Prefer cooler water (64-78°F) — great for unheated indoor tanks

GloFish danios are genetically modified with fluorescent proteins
